Commemorating and celebrating the Spanish Second Republic, proclaimed on April 14, 1931, means highlighting its social and political conquests and its progressive ideology: public education and a public health system, sport and popular culture, feminism, the right to housing for everyone or universal suffrage. In 2021, 2022 and 2023 we worked with the City’s Department of Democratic Memory and the Institute of Culture of Barcelona to design and develop a program of diverse cultural activities throughout the city under the name of “Republican Spring” with the aim of claiming the Republican values in the public space.
